The time passes by so quickly, here we are in February. As for this month there are some salary earners who are looking for yearly bonus at the end of month and in the meantime they are waiting for new opportunity. It is a life cycle of working age to seek a good opportunity after get bonus. There are many reasons for the changes, e.g., increasing salary, seeking new challenges, or balancing life.
I just talked with my ex-colleagues and a close friend last night, who are about to leave and change their jobs in soon. My friend who just had the second child, she has already made decision to leave her full-time job and to be a full-time mom. As for my ex-colleagues, some of them are touring for job interviews and seeking an opportunity that will be better for work-life balance.
Actually I do understand them. It was back 5 months ago, I made a decision to change my career path and challenge my capability to join in banking industry that I have never been before. I thought that it was a failure and it taught me a lesson for changing a job in nearly 40 years old. I decided to get the offer that based on high salary. But it was wrong, I was suffered with the responsibilities and finally I had to leave the job.
I made a decision to take a break for a month to consider what do I really want? The high salary and high pressure or doing the job that I can do it the best but lower salary. It is my luck that I get some offers from the top companies. Certainly I focus on responsibilities to be the first priority at this time.
Absolutely the high salary that would come up with high expectation and high pressure. The life is too short, we should not bury our life with working hard. The work-life balance is so important for me, it is fine for me to get lower salary to trade off with better life. I have more time for my family, going to the fitness, spending some time with my friends and doing something that I am really love.
